The Gage Canadian Dictionary (1983) defines ergonomics as:

“the scientific study of the relationship between human beings and their working environment with a view to increasing efficiency”.
The thinking is that if you have a healthy work environment then you will be more productive. Having your work station set up properly will mean that you will have more stamina and fewer aches and pains.
