Google Docs allows you to create, edit, and store documents without needing any software or storage device (e.g. memory stick). As long as you have access to a computer that has access to the internet, you can retrieve your documents. In addition, you can also share your documents with others and allow them to either view or edit your work.
While you can do lots with Google Docs, it doesn’t have all the functions of a word processing program like Microsoft Office Word. However, it has everything you need to write letters, resumes, essays, and homework assignments.
To get started, you will need to create a Google Account. If you have a Gmail account, then you already have an Google Account and you can use the same username and password. If you don’t have a Gmail account, you may want to consider setting one up. However, you don’t have to sign up for Gmail in order to create a Google Account; you can use your existing email address when creating your Google Account.
