Module 4: Electronic Communication

Upon successful completion of this module you will be able to :

1. Internet
   • Use favorites/bookmark bar
   • Fill in online forms
   • Perform a search using a web search engine
   • Use library websites to search for, request, and renew books and other resources
   • Be aware of security issues on the internet
2. Send and receive email including attachments

The internet. Email. The world wide web. Browsers.

These are terms that we hear every day but exactly what do they mean. Almost everyone now days has heard of the internet and certainly the impact of the internet influences our daily life from how we apply for jobs to banking to ordering pizza for dinner. The internet is much too big a topic to cover in this course. In Computer Studies 030 we want you to know some of the terms used and demonstrate that you know how to use the world wide web and navigate through certain websites.
This section of the course also focuses on using the computer and the Internet to communicate with your fellow learners, instructor and instructional assistant.
